Year in Review

Brightness of Future... it’s a core philosophy of the Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG).

FCTG also organizes an annual charity trip in which employees who are signed up to the Workplace Giving Program are eligible to participate. Each trip features a different destination that supports an organization or issue that is important to our people.

Past trips have included Iceland, where 19 employees trekked across the highlands raising $50,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In Thailand, 14 employees raised $30,000 for Friends of the Asian Elephant and learned first-hand about responsible travel practices with respect to animal welfare.

As part of FCTG, Corporate Traveller is committed to its community social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and being a positive corporate citizen. When you come on board with Corporate Traveller, you are working with a company that cares. We believe that in order to thrive in our community we need to help build a thriving community.

Make-A-Wish Foundation

For the past 15 years, the Flight Centre Travel Group has been partnering with Make-A-Wish Canada, to raise the spirits of children and their families suffering from illnesses. In lieu of holiday gift baskets for clients, Corporate Traveller sponsored four Wishes across Canada.

Along with the national office, eight regional chapters grant magical wishes to children in need from coast-to-coast. Make-A-Wish Canada is an affiliate of Make-A-Wish® International, the largest wish-granting organization in the world, making dreams and wishes come true for more than 415,000 children since 1980.

The David Suzuki Foundation

Founded in 1990, the David Suzuki Foundation is a national non-profit organization headquartered in Vancouver, with offices in Toronto and Montreal.

Through evidence-based research, education and policy analysis, the David Suzuki Foundation works to conserve and protect the natural environment and help create a sustainable Canada. They regularly collaborate with non-profit and community organizations, all levels of government, businesses and individuals.

Give A Mile

Give A Mile is a group of dedicated volunteers who believe strongly in the power of visits from loved ones for people in palliative or critical condition. Their inspiration: founder Kevin Crowe experienced this power first-hand during the passing of his good friend, Ryan, who relished such visits. Kevin learned that said over 10 trillion air miles went unused in 2011 alone, and Give A Mile was born.

Project Somos

Late last year, a lucky group of 16 'Flighties' embarked on the annual charity trip with the Flight Centre Foundation. This time to Guatemala to work with Project Somos (, an eco-sustainable community for at-risk mothers and children. This was an incredible project dedicated to family preservation that is also fully sustainable both from an environment and social perspective. The founders are originally from Vancouver, Canada and broke ground at the site in 2011. Today, this stunning piece of land hosts more than 10 buildings which house families who are in need. This was an incredibly special trip!
